O Projecto Outeiro do Circo esteve presente em Évora no Heritales – International
Heritage Film Festival de 2017, cabendo-lhe a honra da iniciativa de abertura do festival.
A cerimónia de abertura foi celebrada com a inauguração da exposição fotográfica "Olhares", que inclui diversas interpretações do trabalho arqueológico realizado no âmbito deste projecto, que decorreu nas instalações do Grupo Pró Évora e contou ainda com uma apresentação a cargo de Miguel Serra, coordenador do Projecto Outeiro do Circo.
Para recordar estes momentos e assinalar o conceito por trás deste festival foi agora publicado um artigo, assinado pelos organizadores, Maria Zozaya-Montes e Nicola Schiavottiello do CIDEHUS - Universidade de Évora, intitulado "Heritales 2017 - Beyond the academia. Re-thinking Heritage trough cinema and others art forms".

"Since the first edition, Heritales was seeking for
an event with interdisciplinary authors talking about
heritage within different narratives, but always with
a strong impact on image research. That is why the
opening ceremony of this second edition of the festival
was celebrated with the photographic exhibition
“Olhares” which show the work of a Bronze Age
archaeological site in Beja (Portugal).
These stunning photographs showed the
archaeological site Outeiro do Circo, one of the most
important Bronze Ages settlement of Portugal, in Beja.
The opening with this project, led by Miguel Serra and
Eduardo Porfirio, became an optimal starter in order to
create synergy between the invited different authorities
of the city (DRCA, CME, CMB), private foundations
(GPE, FEA, Forum FEA) and scientific representatives
(CIDEHUS-UE and CATEDRA-UNESCO-UE) as well
as the general public."
